The cold weather has them moving. A notification went off earlier this evening sparking a conversation. Would we catch one or the whole sounder? Pork patrol.
Feral hogs are a nuisance by all accounts. They directly compete with all the game animals. Recently, they tore up one of our fields. If a hog is breathing two things are going to happen. His tail is going to be wagging, and his nose will be rooting.
It's just another day here in Hurricane Creek bottoms.
We all knew tonight was going to be interesting after the first picture came in. Tommy has his knife sharp while Graycee is warm and cozy in North Carolina knowing there's about to be a lot of work to do.
Feral hogs aren't my favorite table fair, but they'll do as Pop used to say. I miss Pop. If he was here he would be all for getting them caught. My o’l buddy Tommy wants to catch them too. He baited the trap this morning.

I'm ready for some whole hog sausage. Maybe tonight we will catch them. They are hanging out right now in real time. I'm writing and looking at pictures. Sorta taking you folks with me on tonight's hog catch.

That big sow would make some fine sausage. If we catch them, maybe I'll show you all how I make my breakfast sausage.
