Why I Will Never Quit Journalism

Journalism isn't dead. Reporters have just gotten lazy.

Me, in seventh grade, traveling with my parents and sitting in a motel with my favorite things — pen, paper, coffee with cream. Cigarette belonged to my mom.

I've loved writing since I could hold a pencil.

I was a young reader — age three — and that meant I was a young writer. I had a vivid imagination. Too vivid. My mom, if she were still alive, would tell you. Still, I was always grounded in reality because my parents always told me the hard facts about life, politics, you name it. There was never any sugarcoating in my family.

Even when my grandmother passed away and my mother's sister — my aunt — pillaged my grandmother’s tiny house for stuff that did not belong to her, there was no hiding from me what she did. Family secrets were bluntly told.

It was no surprise when I decided definitively by seventh grade that I was going to be an investigative reporter for the rest of my life.

And I plan to do just that. So you reporters hoping I'm going to fade away or fail at the Reckoning? Think again. Ha ha ha.

Let me tell you how this is going to go. Watch below.
